Get To Know: Steal Tapes
who are you?
i’m simone, also known as steal tapes. i’m a 27 years old dj and producer from a small town near milan, italy.
what started your journey in music?
i’ve always been passionate about music. as a kid, i was really into hip hop and loved dancing. around the age of 11 or 12, i discovered electronic music and the art of djing, and i was instantly hooked. i started producing music when i was 13 and never stopped since.

biggest goal as a producer/dj right now?
as a dj, my biggest goal is to play in every country around the world. traveling is one of my biggest passions, and i’d love to discover the world through music. as a producer, i want to create music that truly leaves a mark, tracks that stay with people and become part of their lives.
your biggest moment so far?
the most memorable moment for me is hearing my music played out, especially by big names in the scene. i remember the first time i saw a video of marco carola playing my track at space in miami and the crowd going crazy. that really touched me and was a very emotional moment.

biggest challenge in your career so far?
the biggest challenge has been maintaining my motivation and passion to consistently release music and push my career forward, especially as the industry becomes increasingly complex and less authentic. it’s not always easy to stay true to yourself in such an environment.
what’s coming up/next for you?
at the moment, i’m focusing on growing my label, househeadz records, and planning a series of events. i’m working on a lot of new music and i’m starting to think about releasing an album.
if you could remix any track, what would it be?
i would really love the opportunity to remix “i never knew love” by chez damier.
